A coffee flavoured irresistible desert simple to make at home for your family and friends. Note: this version is not a traditional tiramisu recipe.

Ingredients to make 8 to 10 serving portions


Filling

2 Cups heavy cream 35%

250 Grams soft cream cheese

1 Cup confectioners’ sugar packed

1 Tea spoon vanilla extract

Liquid

1 ½ Cups expresso or strong coffee cooled at room temperature

1 Table spoon of liquor. Use alcohol you like (orange blossom liquor is used in this recipe)

2 Table spoon maple syrup

1 Package (400gr) ladyfinger biscuits

Cocoa powder for decoration


Directions

Filling

Place heavy cream, mixer whisk attachments, and mixer bowl in freezer for 10 minutes prior to start.

After everything is child, whisk the cream with medium to high speed to form a foam. Whist in the sugar ½ cup at a time whisking well after each addition. Divide the cream cheese into smaller pieces and add 1/3 at  a time to the mixture and continue to whisk with low speed until all of the cream cheese has been incorporated.

In a shallow dish combine coffee, liquor, vanilla, and maple syrup and set aside.

Assembly

Select an 8 x 12 x 2 inch or similar serving dish.

Open the ladyfingers package. Ladyfingers are low density, dry, egg-based, sweet sponge biscuits roughly shaped like a large finger.

Quickly dip ladyfinger biscuits each at a time in soaking liquid and arrange one layer at the bottom of the serving dish. Do not let the biscuits to absorb too much liquid. If the biscuits don’t fit exactly the dish break up extra and fill in empty spaces.

First Layer

Cover the ladyfingers layer with an even layer of filling about ½ inch thick. Arrange another layer of the soaked ladyfingers in opposite direction and spread over the second layer of filling.

Second Layer in Oposite Direction

Dust generously with cocoa powder.

Keep in refrigerator overnight to let the  flavours to diffuse.
